TopDown
Having had eye dominance problems I had a lesson yesterday. Wasn't too bad. At the moment I am closing my left eye and this helps. Was shooting with a Miroku which was much better than I got on with Beretta's. On the hunt for a gun now. How similar are the Brownings to Miroku? I know they are sort of the same people. I'm on the lookout for either a Miroku or Browning too (as my first gun) and having had a swing with both of them I prefer feel of the Browning (525 Sporter) though there wasn't much between them. I'm sure I read a review on Sporting Gun that said they were both made in the same factory anyway.

I was similar. Didn't get on with Beretta, and Brownings stock shape suited me better. I eventually got a Fabarm STL VS which was better still. I have broad shoulders and slightly longer neck which requires a slightly higher stock and more cast. The Fabarm had an adjustable stock and plenty of R/H cast which made it more suitable for me. Brownings and Mirokus are made in the same factory (apart from B25 series) so cosmetics may sway you. I'd opt for a Miroku MK38 with adjustable stock with 30" multichoke barrels, and you will not go wrong in my opinion.
Mr_Logic
I tried both the Miroku and the Browning, just preferred the Browning and got a better deal. Prefer my Beretta AL391 Teknys to either, though.
BigG
On the bottom of a Mirook you will see 'BC Miroku' the 'BC' is Browning copy. Personally I think any Mirook seems better made than the new 525.

I thought it was the late owners name, Bukichi Miroku I can't imagine it's "Browning Copy" "Who do you work for?" "Browning Copy Miroku" "Oh that's nice" Edited March 23, 2010 by Chard

How similar are the Brownings to Miroku? I know they are sort of the same people. To be honest I think the best advise is to try them back you back and see which feels better. (not necessarily the one you hit most with) I was also given some sound advise at the start, if you by a Browning, Beretta or Miraku if it terns out not to be the gun for you, there will be no problem selling it on whereas some other makes don't seem to sell on so well. I love by B525 (but my son couldn't imagine being without a Beretta) the right gun will simply feel right. Then make sure it fits properly, so if you have a good gunsmith near you he/she will be able to do all the minor tweeks with cast, stock length etc An adjustable stock is another alternative but there can be a tendancy to play about when you have a day day so I prefer spending the extra you will spend on the sdjustable stock on having the standard stock fitted.
