Ian750
I wish!!! Lincolnshire are running at 12-16 weeks so I was told!!
jimmyb79
I had a six week wait with Kent about a year ago, so 2 weeks isn't bad!
flocked
I had a six week wait with Kent about a year ago, so 2 weeks isn't bad! 21 days from posting application to receiving it back in the post from Kent Police
smartshot
I just applied for my .22 FAC. Told they was changing systems, would be minimum of 3 months before I would receive it, and a minimum of 4 weeks before they would even be able to come out for interview. Funny thing is when I applied for my shotgun about 4 years ago they told me they was changing systems then and it ended up taking around 5 months to come back. Kent Militia
21 days from posting application to receiving it back in the post from Kent Police Sounds about right for Kent, it took me just over 30 days to get my FAC, posting it to getting it in the post. CZ550Kevlar
Hmmm so 2 weeks is a pretty fair estimate then which means end of this week i should get a phone call with some news. Would anyone happen to know the name off hand of the lady that works in the BASC firearms section??? PM me with name. i spoke to her Friday and forgot to get her name. dapper
I put mine in on the 23rd March. They have not yet taken any money from me. I included a cheque for £50.00. I keep checking, I think it will be a few weeks yet. My shotgun cert took about 6 - 8 weeks. that was about 1 year ago. I ran it all down with references, target club letter, photos everything. Got them to give me a receipt. Lets hope its only about 30 days. awaiting the call to come and check the gun cabinet. Cheers Edited March 28, 2010 by dapper
CZ550Kevlar
Luckily this isn`t a grant or renewal, something more mundane but it still has to go through Wendy`s desk.
jimmyb79
Rather than start a new topic thought I'd resurrect this old chestnut! Do any of the Kent lads know what the current wat is on a new FAC grant? (land clearing aside). Just stuck mine in, prepared for a wait as my SGC change of address took nearly 3 months, but thought I'd see if anyone has had more recent experience... Mangled99
It's an old thread and I have just had a variation done in 28 days but I was on the phone pestering them quite a bit. I was speaking to the FEO and he told me for new applications it is taking around 4-5 months at the moment as they are very busy and are suffering cut backs. Hope this helps and here's hoping it will be a lot quicker.
jimmyb79
4-5 months? Ouch! Still, it'll be worth the wait I'm sure! Thanks for the info mate.
