smartshot
Hi there all. Just in the process of applying for my FAC (wohayy). Couple of tricky questions: 1) Spoke to my f/arms officer about ammo storage. He recommended just getting any old lock box (cash box) and just using that, saying theres no particular standards it needs to meet. I thought I needed to buy a proper ammo cabinet, anyone heard of this before? 2)This is the tricky question, me and my old man share the same cabinet (both have sgc), he doesnt have a s/gun at the moment and isnt too fussed about renewing it next year. Now im applying for my FAC, to keep my rifles in same cabinet that he has access to, is this an issue? Many thanks for any replies, Rob
willy1
From what I understand,if two share a cabinet then the shotguns or firearms must be on both certificates, but,if your father doesn't have an FAC,then i'm not sure on that.It would be best to talk again to your FEO. webber
To share a cabinet both parties would need to have FAC, and the guns / rifles would need to be on both persons licences. It would be easier for you to have a seperate cabinet or for your dad to surrender his license if he does not intend to renew. webber

Many thanks for any replies, Rob he would be correct but,in this day and age and the choice we have,it makes sense to be security conscious and get something that will not be easy to remove or to be carried away. i use an argos safe for the ammo and bolts(if i need to) and this was good enough for my feo and he could not pull it off the wall. al argos safe>>>Visit My Website Edited March 27, 2010 by albob
smartshot
Thanks for all the helpful replys. Okay time to upgrade to another cabinet I think. Its only a 2/3 gun Ive got atm so might go for a larger, deep one. The one I got at the moment was from DJS and I thought there prices where pretty reasonable, anyone know of any cheaper places? Cheers Rob
