pbickerd
Hi all, I'm thinking of picking up an M2 for clays etc. I had a Supernova before and do like the way Benelli's handle. I've noticed there are a lot of other Benelli semi's but cant find out what the difference is between them. So far Ive seen: M2 M1 M1 Super 90 Montefeltro Rafaello Super Black Eagle Super Black Eagle 2 Why do they need so many different model of Semi auto? I'm guessing some are just old but ? chezza1986
The Super Black Eagle was the first 3.5 inch chamber semi shotgun so Benelli claimed in some ad i read once. Go to Benelliusa.com and that'll show you their sales line at the moment. (plus a few just for the american market.) Look out for the new Vinci! Looks sweet as. Think it's coming here sometime this year but not sure.
Daveo26
M3 pump/semi auto, weird!!! ideal for military nut M2 newer version of below M1 Same as below M1 Super 90 older pre comfortech synthetic, last for ever if you like dishwasher safe guns. Montefeltro available in wood or comfortech, decent clay or field gun, iv had 2 first one was shocking and jammed constantly 2nd was perfect... Rafaello posher clay gun, different 2 piece receiver, Super Black Eagle 31/2 inch magnums beasts Super Black Eagle 2 see above Just my thoughts, I sold mine because i did'nt like the recoil It had the comfortech stock (which Benelli launched to reduce felt recoil) and it felt like the gun was made of Jelly, Like i said just my opinion If i was buying another id get an older pre comfortec M1 or M2, they are very good. Two of the fellas at my local clay ground use FAC M1s for clays and pigeons and they have had 10s of 1000s of cartridges through and still going strong Edited April 11, 2010 by Daveo26
Paddy Galore!
m3's are ok, some tend to foul up for no apparent reason, mine did but it seems to be behaving itself now, but still doesn't like cheap or under powered carts, which is no bother as i just switch it over to pump anyway. I think the super 90 versions have a full pistol grip.

pbickerd
It much more complicated than that Gram71.........Look at the state of this lot.......... That entry gun looks mean!! 14 inch barells?!?!? PS - I'm still a bit confused Maybe I should just stick with the orginal plan of getting an M2 rather than try to make sense of the rest of the model line. Hardwoods Green
I bought my Supersport from Matt at Doveridge and he went through and explained all the models, very knowledgeable and has been to the factory he told me Might be worth giving him a bell
neil smith
PS - I'm still a bit confused Maybe I should just stick with the orginal plan of getting an M2 rather than try to make sense of the rest of the model line. If your shooting clays & want 12g you cant go wrong with the M2 field model with comfortec stock, it will work fine with the lighter loads. The tactical models have a fixed seven round magazine which is of little use in the UK even for PSG as the capacity is too low. If later on you wish to make the gun into an fac shotgun the M2 with a standard magazine tube is the easiest to extend unlike the fixed seven round tactical models which require the tube to be sawn off before you can add on the extension. Extension mag tubes can be had in varying lengths that simply screw onto the standard M2 without the hastle of cutting the tube, which is the first choice of most of the PSG competition shooters these days.
