Moors Man
As a novice pigeon shooter, what is the best time of day (if any) to shoot ? Sorry to ask what is probably a basic question. Thanks
Cranfield
The "best time of the day" varies throughout the year, is heavily influenced by the weather, seems to change from area to area and also by the day. Watch your shooting area as much as you can and you will see by the bird activity what their habits are. In my area at the moment (warm sunny days) the birds are more active mid morning and then late afternoon up until about 7pm. Next week it could be different. motty
Got to agree with Cranfield there. My mate shot on a field yesterday that had just been spread with muck, prior to ploughing. He didn't arrive at the field until 1pm, and shot 112. No need to be up early, unless it's the only time you can get out. I'm looking to shoot on some rape tomorrow at about 2pm.
