NEW Ballywalter Game & Country Living Fair

Things are looking good for the NEW Ballywalter Game Fair planned for Sunday 2nd May with over 100 stands already booked in and many more applications coming in daily. The exhibitor base is excellent with a good Gunmakers Row and an excellent range of fishing tackle and clothing on display. We are pleased that virtually all the usual UK stands will be there and a large number of new ones and we are dellighted to report that the Sporting Village in the yard is completely full with all sorts of things to interest the shooter including modern guns, antique guns including a display of John Rigby guns, taxidermy, BASC, Game Cookery, Game Keeping supplies etc.

Sponsorship of events has proven buoyant with over £3,000 in prizes for the clay shooting i.e.

aye i might go depends if we are gonna enter the springers in the gundog tests, as ive said before its a fair old hike and most of the lads my way feel the same and thats what stops them going, moira and shanes seems to be more central to most people

Springers start at 9.30 sharp on new improved and larger course. Prizes as per the web site www.ballywaltergamefair.com

There are also fun events for gundog handlers such as dummy throwing contests and a gundog scurry plus a fantastic range of stands with canine products.

Also introductory ticket offer in that admission price to Ballywalter includes a FREE ticket to Shanes Castle.

albert do you know if the course for the springers is same as before on a grass field with stick piles or is it changed to rashy or woodland ground

The final course has not been decided but will take in last year's ground and a lot more including a bit of woodland.

The test is being organised by Ken Lindsay & the Antrim & Down Club but we have allocated more ground as we think gundogs should be easily viewed by the public as they are the most attractive of the country sports competitions.
