AVB
I know there were some topics on the subject recently but I was surprised at what I was quoted for my car yesterday. I purchased a new Nissan X-trail March 2009 for £18,500 (it was a very good price). Yesterday I got one quote from a trade and one for a part exchange on a Freelander. Both were for £19,000 !!!! Yes a new car will be more now than this time last year but they haven't gone up that much. the freelander I was looking at last year I could have got for £28,000 and now £32,000. Dr W
I do a bit of work in connection with used car prices at the end of finance agreements and we're seeing that last year the used car market was depressed and prices low and now prices are starting to increase again. PaulABF
I'm currently in the process of buying a new car. Looking at a 1.5 diesel Nissan Qashquai. After looking at a few '08 / 09 plates for £13000 I looked on the net for a brand new one. I've discovered a site where can purchase a Mar 10 registered one with delivery mileage only (to my door) for £14000. After trading in my 7 year old run-a-round (72000 miles) I can have the motor for just shy of £12000. Bonus.
humperdingle
Trade-in prices fluctuate wildly depending on exactly what you're trading in, and what you're trading it in against. Cash purchase prices are usually more reliable.
