Which calibre

Samson or American Eagle ammo is £8-£10 for 20 55gr hollowpoints

I had a fox not long ago at 200 yards shooting standing from sticks at night under lamp.

I know of people who shoot silly distances with .223 on ranges 600-1000 yards, but realistically in the field out to about 300 yards.

Got my forms for a variation but cant decide what to put in for,i want a foxing gun only so like a 222. 223. 22-250 but cant decide which, i did want a 223?Help me please anyone

This subject goes round and round and round, and possibly the best is a .243 with a 58g V-Max.

Then your 22-250!

But the simple reality is, for cost, versatility and the vast majority of peoples fox shooting a .223 is a fine tool!!

If you reload, so too is the .222!

:o :P:D

Any clearer?? :o

If you want a cheap .223 my mate has just bought a Baikal single barrel rifle from York Guns. It cost £280 new and it shoots really well. Its got a rail for a scope and although its a single shot he can load it as quick as you can work a bolt.

Ideal little rifle if you don't want anything fancy just a good workhorse. Apparantly, York have sold quite a few now and they are good. Google Baikal and have a look for yourself.

I would always choose a .223 over the others, plenty of cheap ammo available and most places stock it. If you wan't to shoot on ranges most don't allow a .22-250 because it exceeds the max velocity in some loadings. Which might be a consideration.
