Paddy Galore!
I've had a go with both of these calibres, now as a novice to range shooting i have to say i didn't notice much difference, I liked them both but out of the two i'd probably go for the 44. I agree with you for once RM! being on the range is good practice, i rarely get more than 50 rounds off when i go bunny bashing, it's best to get familiar with a gun, knock a few cobwebs off in a safe environment, my previous point was only meant to highlight the fact that my mate can't judge distance very well, i was wondering if it was a similar problem for other target shooters who go out in the field. mr smith
I know there's nothing wrong with the microgroove using target loads as that's what i use.But the yanks use their for some rather large animals and therefore stoke up the loads, those that do prefer the ballard rifling for hot lead loads. the running man
I dunno gram that's a tough one,in judgeing distance I think prob a target shooter should be better, after shooting at diffrent distances u could prob say oh yeah that bunnies about the same as stage such and such in some comp, yet hunters may know a bit more feildcraft I know I still use my training when stalking or rough shooting. But ultimately I would have to concept that it would be something up to the individual. And probably something that target and rough shooters have in equal amounts .44 magnum loads I've no comment on the marlin but I've a ruger77 in 44 and I've put a few where I want them at 200 yrds with stoked up loads so ile give u that one mr smith good point!
