hendersons
Simple question this I'm out looking over a warren at the moment hoping to get a few rabbits. Normally this warren is easy pickings because they are relatively left alone. Only today none seem to be popping their heads up.the only thing that is not as normal is it is raining so do they stay underground while it rains or do I give it a bit longer. Thanks nick p.s. Since I started typing this saw a fox about 50yards away squeeked it in to a closer range head just appeared out of the osr and just as iwasabout to pull the trigger bloody gas gun whent bang about 15yds away from me,never seen a fox move so fast. Don't think this is going to be my lucky day somehow

albob
some are not showing because they have young and stay in burrows longer,so not all down to the rain. light rain ain`t so bad,as they stick near to burrows or trees(better if it is a light drizzle and mild windy weather). heavy rain can be a waste but,if rain is falling over several days, they still have to feed.so not all gloom. al Edited April 29, 2010 by albob
hendersons
I have called it a day. I'm now sat at home drinking tea and eating crumpets. I shot just the one rabbit today. The poor fella must have been starving and in a great deal of pain as when I cut it open it was full of worms. I didn't take it home for the pot as i didn't want to risk it. Even so i'm glad I shot it as his life couldn't have been too pleasant. nick

George1990
Rabbits round here only come out in blazing sun round my patch. Just over the boundary there are literally hundreds out rain or shine. Even quite heavy rain. No rain is definitely a better bet. And it saves stripping the gun and wet fur smell.
