happyshooter
I have used springers for a long time and have never seen a bipod used on one because of the recoil . the gun needs cushioning in the palm of your hand in a gentle hold, resting the gun on a hard surface will have your shots all over the place, but hey ho what do us old shooters know , its called experience!!!!, atb brian Edited May 2, 2010 by happyshooter
wildman
Thanks for the reply Brian ,hadnt thought of the recoil problem.Thinking about it the shots would be all over the place
Dekers
For the occasional shooter I would not recommend a bipod on a springer. My lad has one on his Gamo and it works, it's a whole new way of shooting and takes practice, but you can get consistency and better accuracy with them...but you need to learn how to shoot with it. Generally, as I said, I wouldn't bother!
aaron airgunner
the thing about a bipod is that they are really designed for PCP's. if you zero your springer off a bipod then you can ONLY shoot accuratly off a bipod. with a PCP you can zero your rifle off a bipod and then if you had to take a standing shot it would be just as accurate as it would be off the ipod. personally i think you should just zero your springer from kneeling and then only shoot my springer from kneeling as this is the most versitile position as you can shoot right up in the trees and down slopes but it takes a while to perfect. try this vid: http://www.airgunshooting.co.uk/expertadvi...ils.aspx?id=
Power ranger
Himy son wants a bipod for the above rifle ,but due to the short length of barrel can i get one to fit? Dont have a lot of knowledge on these matters so any help appreciated Thanks I would not recomend putting a bipod on the xl, it will not shoot anywhere near as accurate as without due to the recoil. Try a good quality shooting bean bag/padded rifle rest, half the price and will not upset accuracy. Hope that helps BTW great rifle the xl happy shooting !
