Just been out and fell in love with a Geo. Graham BLNE. ;) It says on the rib that they are from Cockermouth. Does anybody know anything about them. My Gunsmith thinks they still trade and also had a place in Inverness. I have had a quick look on google but can't find anything about them. Can anybody help me out?!

I used to have a Graham's of cockermouth SxS blne. it was a trade gun which i had to scrap due to lack of storage space in my cabinet .

Grahams of Cockermouth went out of buissness many years a go.

But there is a bloke that i know who is writing a book on Cumberland gun makers and i know that he has quite a bit of the history of Grahams and also of

Harisson's of wigton and Carlisle ,Milburns of Brampton and many other old local Cumberland gun makers. such as in workington, and Penrith.

If any one has any old cumberland guns that may be of intrest to him let me know and i will put you in touch with him .

also if any one has a Millburns of Brampton gun for sale let me Know. :big_boss:

Bob.

I remember a gunshop near the big bridge on the Lorton road past the auctions. Was that Grahams? Used to go in as a kid.

George Graham was recorded in about 1890 in Station Street, Cockermouth, Cumberland. Between about 1894 and 1897 the name was changed to George P Graham who was recorded at 32 Station Street. Between about 1905 and 1909 the firm moved to Victoria Road, and between abour 1930 and 1936 the name changed to George P Graham & Son.

At some time, probably after the war, the firm's name changed to "The Sportsman's House". Whether or not this entailed a change of ownership from the Graham family is not known. The firm was not recorded after about 1970.
