White Rabbit
Afternoon Folks, Can anyone help me out with a search for a rifle. I'm looking for a manufacturer that makes a stainless/synthetic sporter in .22 hornet? Preferably with a short barrel and factory threaded. Does such a rifle exist? I've trawled through websites but can't find the above spec in that calibre. Best wishes White Rabbit.
SSS
How about having one made up? McMillan stock and border barrel for example? May be expensive but it will certainly be what you are after. <McMillan stocks here> <Border Barrels here>
Mr_Logic
Short answer - no, nobody makes what you're after. If you want that spec, then you are looking at a custom build. I have a CZ527 in Hornet which shoots ridiculously accurately - I'd just get one of those - easy enough to find and about the best Hornet you'll find. White Rabbit
Thanks for the replies, Don't really want to spend a fortune on the rifle as i'll be fitting night vision to it and using it at relatively short range. I might go for a CZ and fit an after market stock. Just have to remember to give the blueing a wipe down! Thanks for your help. I was sure someone would make a Hornet in that spec but i guess not!! njc110381
The closest thing to a low maintenance gun I could find was this.... http://www.ruger.com/products/rotaryMagazi...heets/7203.html You can bet your *** it wont shoot as well as a CZ though! They're the best Hornet by far and in all fairness cleaning a rifle really isn't that hard!
wildfowler.250
I suppose you could re-barrel an old CZ and get a stainless barrel,( although im not sure who would do this or how well it would shoot ). And get a custom stock as has been statted

Magus69
I have the same one as in this link kindly posted above, http://www.ruger.com/products/rotaryMagazi...heets/7203.html . I'm thinking of putting it up for sale for the same reason as UK fowler as in I just don't shoot it enough. It's been bedded, had the barrel freefloated and the bolt shimmed and would come with matching stainless Ruger dedicated scope mounts or for a little bit extra I'd leave the Bushnell on it. I have lots of cases over 100 new and many once fired, 2 sets of dies RCBS and Lee, and it is in very very good condition I also have a new wildcat whisper moderator but have never fitted it if you'd be interested in that too. PM me if you'd like to see pics I only do face to face though won't RFD this is a lovely sweet shooting little foxing rifle. Mike... White Rabbit
Thankyou for the replies and rifle offers! I've just shelled out on night vision and put it on a .243 for the time being but i'll be looking for a smaller rifle after this season when i have the cash to spend. My rifles are working tools to me which is why i love stainless/synthetic. When I've been out all night I'm not in the mood for gun cleaning when I get in! WR.
