gaz-loc
can do, and its funny cos i just posted a new topic about some advice for a scope for my 17 HMR im gonna purchase anyway with this i can help air rifle id suggest you dont go over the top with optics budget for a few reasons i won't go into. but thats my opinion i currently have a 3-9x40 on my bsa ultra and that is more than enough in my opinion..does the job fine and holds its zero nicely however the cheaper glass does show when you get into lower light but i wouldnt overly worry about that at a £50 pound price bracket mate, basically how much are you willingto spend? Beardo
i'd highly recommend the Walther scopes if you're on a budget.
gaz-loc
right i see well thats a good budget for an air rifle scope in other words youl get a real good one at that price well thing about the hawke airmax is it has what i think they call the MAP reticle (multiple aim point) which gives you aim points on the scope reticle for different yardages..you even get a download of the hawke ballistic chart to find out how your calibre performs..good feature especially for 17 calibre as its a bit easier to predict..however i have a 22 and it is a usefull feature anyway this seems a bit one sided..walther are good as has already been pointed out..bushnell is another but from personal experience the lower priced bushnells dont come with raingaurd and i can assure you its noticeable when you look down the scope if you have looked down the likes of weavers but im not sure how good they are at £70.. so basically at £70 all scopes are fairly similar its just finding the magnication and reticle that suits you
Jega
As i'm sure you know mate air rifles in non fac have a maximum hunting range of about 40 to 45 yds for bunnies,so as expert says a scope of 3-9x50 is more than enough for what you need me and my lad often use this sort of scope for H.F.T. competition shooting .Again dont go over the top on expensive glass, these guys have some decent quality scopes in at a good price and are well thought of .Heres the link . http://www.jsramsbottom.com/

Colster
Opticswarehouse have an offer on two Hawke Endurance scopes - http://www.opticswarehouse.co.uk/proddetai...p?prod=HEN31044, there's an offer code to put in to get the discount (comes with mounts and flipups too) I've been through quite a few scopes on my guns and have settled on an Hawke Endurance 30IR on my LR and a Hawke Varmint II on my FAC Air. At 50-75 you should be able to avoid the low end scopes which can often be disappointing (Hawke Sport, Bushnell Sportsman etc) but your eyes may well find one scope good that someone else will struggle with, I've had two Whitetail Classics (generally thought to be good scopes) and couldn't get on with either of them.
