dunganick
never shot minsterly.....but bisley is great, the clay ground is top notch, and the rifle ranges.....well they are kind of flat with targets and back stops, what more can you ask. The Sniper
Antuk, Haven't they still got a range near Mirfield or Deer Hill, near Huddersfield......it would be a bit nearer for you.
Dunkield
I have shot at both many times. Minsterley is limited to 100 yards max, they have 2 50 yard ranges as well which are good for rimfires etc. And of course a shop full of goodies to make you even poorer. It will cost you 20 quid per person from memory, many find the place a bit scruffy and untidy, but that doesn't bother me at all. And The Bog is like going to the moon it so bloody remote Good all day breakfast though and cheap ammo. You can turn up and shoot without being a member of any club. Bisley is 'the home of shooting' according to them, you can book and turn up if you are a member of the NRA or an affiliated club, BASC is an affiliated club so you can book through them if you are a member. You are spolit for choice in terms of distance, anything out to 1,200 yards if you fancy that! Range fees are 25 quid or so for 100/200 yards and on short and long siberia you can 'go forward' without eveyone having to stop shooting (unlike Minsterley) as the targets are in butts. You can book a 'butt boy' ( :*) ) if you fancy it and they will score for you - * insert obvious jokes here boys* Hopefully enough info there, but let me know if need more.. lurcherboy
I would suggest Hythe ranges, but as a **** up soldier has shot a comrade, it may be best to give it a miss LB
Browning
AntUK, Try this website Yorkshire Rifle Assoc. I've tried the ranges in Huddersfield as Sniper suggested. Not sure if the Deer Hill range is still going, but the Brockholes on is.

(Shotgun only closed 24-26 Dec - go figure). See http://www.nra.org.uk/ Sandy.
