harwoody
Has anyone tried the hypaflaps sillosocks decoys yet? How are they in the field?
malkiserow
Excellent, buy with confidence but fine something to protect the hyperflappers in transit

Batch
The rods are a tad on the delicate side and prone to snapping if put under too much stress!! I have a pair and only ever use them to kick the day off and always switch to dead birds on the magnet as soon as I have a couple in the bag. I have found on occassions that the majority of woodies will flare off from the Hypas from quite a way out, but it is likley that those birds have been shot at quite a bit and are more wary. Think once the young broods take to the air they will be quite easily foolled by the Hypas!!
Cranfield
I use Hypaflaps on my rotary all the time and the birds still try to land on them most of the time. As they make the battery last a lot longer (due to their light weight ) and the birds don't seem to mind them, I don't switch over to dead birds anymore. I carry the rods (still the originals) in a section of carbon tube with a cork in each end. If you put the chosen rod through a wing loop, then the head, then the other wing loop and then the pocket in the wing, this leave just a small bend in the rod to get it into the other wing pocket. Do this and the rods shouldn't break.

The Hyperflaps seem delicate but they are quite robust. I tend to leave them on the magnet but you have to watch the birds and see what they want on the day. I've had days when everything in the air gets drawn to them, last weekend the birds came toward it then gave it a 50yard birth so I swapped to dead birds....Different ways for different days, watch the birds and don't be scared to change it! Apart from being EXCELLENT bits of kit, the Silosocks and Hypers are very light and compact. I used to use 12 shell decoys carried in my bucket seat which didn't leave much room for anything else, now I carry 24 Silo's and 2 Hypers in the same bucket seat and they weigh less too!! You won't regret buying these deeks in my opinion.........

I tried them on rape (unharvested) and wild grass with 3 full bodied decoys and clearly drew some in. Cant wait till harvest time, will also try mixing birds on the cradles. thanks all

Jesse James
Has any one had issues with the plastic were the nut goes into to tighten to arm of magnet. One of mine has become stripped after one day of use, I phoned to were i got them from they then told me its best to place some tape onto holder arm of pigeon magnet and then tighten up or to file the round section of the arm a little flat to fit better....? No mention of this when i bought them or in the instructions either.....! The plastic seems a little weak in this area, thought that for the price they would have fitted a metal insert for the bolt area to hold better and tighten into not soft plastic. the decoy kept turning on the arm and eneded upside down for the best part of one hour. any one else...? after only using one i have to say it worked a treat though.... Lee Never had this problem. Take or send them back, my guess it is a faulty one. If this was a known issue we would have seen it here on the forum as many people uses these. larkspur
exactly same problem Lee, kept hanging upside down after a couple of revolutions. Took a course file to the arms and roughed them up a bit, it seems to have solved the problem.
smithy308
Hi, I have used Sillosocks before with some success but I have just picked up some FUD decoys http://www.bushwear.co.uk/nostyles.php?Pro...amp;ClassID=260 to try out. All the reviews I have read online are very positive so I am hoping they are going to be as good as they say.
Guest
I have a friend who say’s they’re excellent due to their movement and lightness which makes the battery last longer!
