Topgunners
I have had 2 sessions on the barley in the last week. I had a phone call from a farmer saying the crows were battering his barley. 1st session I had after work I shot 18 and the following morning at 5.00am I had 39 then I had to go to work. I will be giving it another try at the weekend. Dave K Edited June 15, 2010 by Topgunners

kyska
I've only ever shot crows with a rifle, how do you guys go about with a shotgun shooting them?
UKPoacher
I use deeks for crows. At this time of year carrions are very territorial and will mob any intruders. If its rooks then you need a few on a crop they are known to favour and like pigeons they are seasonal in their diets. Put half a dozen black deeks out just as you would for pigeons. UKPoacher
Just had a frantic three hours on self-set barley on a set aside field. The pigeon's crops were full of ripening barley and as this barley is only about 14" high and a lot more sparsely sown than a drilled crop it's easy to see why they are flocking to it.
