Hi everyone,

This is my intro. I’ve joined this forum to hopefully learn from you guys. I’m wanting to get a slingshot and have never used one before so would like some advice please. My targets I’m after includes pigeons, rats, crows, pheasants and after reading the post on eating squirrels a squirrel or two. Personally I never call squirrels tree rats, but bushy tails!

I used to do a lot of shooting with my late husband in Australia, pig shooting and goat shooting. But have no interest in getting a firearms licence in the Uk. The first pig shoot I ever went on I was told once the men were tucked up in there swags, under no circumstance was I to wake them. Well what was I to do when they were fast asleep and a pig wandered into the camp.

After 10mins or so I finally woke my fiancé. I had never seen anything so funny, to grown men jumping out there swags trying to get there boots on nothing else, with there semi-automatics. Yelling to me to get into the back of the Ute as pigs are very dangerous. Similar thing happened the first time I went goat shooting!

Anyway please bare with me if I post in a forum as I am phonetically dyslectic, and I never mean to offend,

Welcome to Pigeon Watch.

Its not usual in the UK to hunt with a catapult as many consider it not an effective , or humane weapon.

It is definitely not sporting to use one for killing pheasants.

If you don't wish to apply for a shotgun certificate, why not purchase an air rifle, many are capable of effectively killing the quarry you listed.
