tungsten
My BSA Lightening is pretty accurate at 25 yards, but when pliking in the garden it goes off every now and then. Leaving it a few minutes brings it back on target. do the internal working of the rifle overheat the same as in a cartridge rifle? affecting accuracy. domin8or
hi there, never have i heard of an air rifle overheating. its probably something normal like a dodgy pellet or an odd wobble, could be the spring if the gun is old.
hyflier
Hi, I've never stripped down a BSA Lightning that hasn't had a broken spring yet. It is worth checking that out
Al Downie
What happens when you just keep on shooting (without 'leaving it a few minutes') - does it remain consistently on the 'new' POI, or does it become unpredictable?

minkhunter
its verry doutfull you air rifle is over heating,it more likely to be inconsistant pellets.i had similar problem with ratcatcher using eley wasps, they were all over the place.i swapped to daystate ft's and the grouping was perfect..swap ammo and test again.. jimcam
Why not try superdomes(I know that they take a lot of stick)But some guns really like them up the spout? Jim
