Down South
I've just heard the results of a poll that Jeremy Vine has been running to find out the top 5 most flouted laws. Can you believe that illegal hunting of foxes has been voted in at No3, speeding, littering, under aged drinking and using a mobile while driving made up the others in the top 5. Smells a bit foxey to me! Another poll to condence this list shows 1 choice is losing ground. I know which one it should be. Illegal fox hunting, what are these people on? It just goes to show that the ban is nothing to do with animal welfare and........................ ****, my soap box has just colapsed! Was the poll based on any kind of fact DS or just what people think is happening? If so have any of these people even seen a fox hunt (pre or post ban). How many prosecutions have their been for Illegal fox hunting? 0 I think so the law is not being broken surely.
Cranfield
I suspect that those that voted do not understand that currently Hunts are not hunting foxes. All they see is horses, red coats, hounds and automatically think the Law is being broken. Although I did read that a Sussex Hunt notified the Police that they accidently killed a fox last Saturday, whilst drag hunting.
Browning
It's a shame, but I'm sure more foxes will be accidently killed during the coming months. But then it will only be the old, weak and infirm foxes that get accidently killed by the drag hunts, as the strong and healthy will be away on their toes. I had a "discussion" regarding this with an "armchair anti" on saturday night in a local pub. Just couldn't get it across to her that a healthy fox would more than likely outrun/outwit a pack of hounds, whereas it's got absolutely no chance of outrunning a .243 70grain ballistic tip ! SNAKEBITE
Although I did read that a Sussex Hunt notified the Police that they accidently killed a fox last Saturday, whilst drag hunting. It was an accident officer. It jumped out in front of my horse and I was unable to stop in time. (Oh and I hope LB was allright ) Edited December 19, 2005 by SNAKEBITE
Down South
The sad thing is that with with all the serious crime that is going on daily how the hell can fox hunting of any kind rate such a position in an unscientific phone in poll. The question was on the lines of what laws are being regularly broken. Illegal fox hunting is a joke answer, there are probably more people at any one moment speeding than are ever involved in fox hunting legal or otherwise. It's just these sick antis who have got nothing better to do than keep raking over old ground trying to win sympathy. If they go on long enough maybe the general public will see them for what they are, a load of pathetic losers!
