apache
In the box where you apply for guns the mods go down so .22RF .22 Moderator .17HMR .17 Moderator that type of thing, I would write 'expanding' after the amount of ammo you want to buy/hold in the ammo box. You should have got two ref forms and envelopes when they sent you the FAC application form, the refs send the form back to police not via you. apache
Are you a BASC member? They have a handout of filling in the FAC http://www.basc.org.uk/en/utilities/docume...71B486DEB7A38C2 If you can't open link it may be in members area (it should be!) North Yorkshire sent envelopes. Colster
I gave my referees stamped addressed envelopes to put the forms in, they are supposed to send them in themselves without out you seeing what they've written. Yes, you need expanding ammo for vermin, most forces will include that anyway if you're applying for a FAC for vermin and not just target shooting but it doesn't hurt to put expanding down on the form too. In the "reason" box for the mods I just put vermin like I put for the gun itself but some people put health and safety, I don't think it matters though. I've never heard of anyone being granted a rimfire but refused a mod for vermin. Edited July 15, 2010 by Colster
mick miller
I handed all my forms together in one envelope, referees included. Made no difference at all.

Same as above - flo said good "no delays waiting for ref forms!" That's as may be but the instructions on the FAC application make it clear the referees should send them in seperately! Looks like you guys "got away with it" ...some regions may well go ape, probably best to do what you are told on the whole! :yp:
stubby
I collected the sealed envelopes from my referee's, then sent them seperatly by registed post

Chap, you are completely missing the point.....it's not how many times you do it, and it is a matter of getting away with it, you have clearly gone against the instructions, if you were in a different region or there is a change of staff at your region you may not be so lucky next time. I simply made the point that it is better to follow the instructions than flout them!
