Dog eating fox ****

Any tips on how to stop our 6 month old scottie bitch from picking up and eating every bit of fox poo that she finds on the walk?

A friend stopped his scottie doing this by lacing a lump of fox poo with tabasco! Didn't work on my labrador though!

had same problem with my 12 month old spaniel, tho mine had the taste for everything. cat ****, fox **** and horse ****. was horrendous, he used to stink and he was doing this every day.i used to have him on a long lead and when he went to eat it i would yank the lead shouting "NO". It worked whilst he was on the lead but when he was off he knew i couldnt get him. i ended up borrowing my mates remote collar (i know some people dont agree with them). when he went to eat it id give him a swift shock. only had to use it once and i know have a **** eating free dog! :good::good::good:

good luck mate :(

Hi,

My lab did the same. It was really bad, every morning I went out at 6am for an hour and he always rolled in any fox **** that he could find. Made me late for work washing him down on more than one occasion. Used to shout "NO NO NO". He would look at me (I am sure he was smiling) and dived straight back in. Bought an electric collar and only had to use it three times. On all three occasions shouting NO NO NO. Now I only have to shout NO when he looks at it and he leaves it alone. The problem was that when he was away from me he knew I could not get to him and took full advantage. However if I do not spot him doing his sniff and circle he still dives right in. Better once a month than twice a day though.

What ever you decide to do good luck with it mate

my lab does the same fox is her fav, but cat or pig or cow **** will do, she starts by having a lick and then a roll and then bites a bit off and runs of chewing it.

i'm struggling to get her to stop, i managed to give her a whip with the lead the other day and she stopped straight away but normaly the damage is done before i notice when i'm half asleap in the morn..

the electric collar sorted mine on horse poo, fortunately she doesn't try it with fox or otherwise. The great thing with the collars is you get them when they are doing it not when its stopped. Mine just used to give me that F you look and carried on. Worst I had was a Jack Russel that rolled in human poop now that was seriously unpleasant
