Shotgunspud
Hello again, Out on Friday with Daz same set up .22rims ready to go… Started the run round very windy but made it more interesting for the long shots, Daz started us off rabbits seamed to be put off by the wind to start with!! But as dark fell out they came you could see we had taken a lot of this course as numbers had dropped at last! And some new what the lamp was all about but you have to expect that after a 1000 of there mates had been shot around them. Second run round and me shooting, I didn’t shoot all that well last week and this carried over to this week!!! I missed some rabbits that I should have been killing with my eyes shut you could put it down to the wind but as you all know when your not shooting well you no it’s you. Sorted myself out a bit and got back on them in the end, Daz fished the night off and shot well again (G#T). Ended the night with 49 picked with 9 to add on we couldn’t find in the long grass. We saw 3 foxes but each time we were wrong side of the wind. Off stalking next weekend with my new 270 Winchester 70 that my father has just given me… I know it’s not a top bit of kit but I have always wanted it from him since I was a boy, I have seen him shoot with it over the years and now it’s my go!! It’s un-moderated and sounds like a tank going off but shoots a nice groups looking forward to having a go with it on the weekend. These are my toys from the top 270 win scope Hawke Night Eye 22.250 Bron scope Hawke SR6 .17hrm CZ scope Hawke SR6 .22rim CZ Scope Viper Thanks Alex Edited August 2, 2010 by Shotgunspud

I personally am finding the best time for the rabbits on my land is daylight hours as they are very lamp shy at the minute. Good luck with the stalking next weekend.
