Remington Express Long Range

Recommended Posts

Europeans have two standards for shotshell chamber pressures. Low pressure, 740 bar, and high pressure, 1050 bar. Short shotshells, 2 3/8-2 3/4" are low pressure shells that will top out at a hair under 11,000 psi....long shells, those magnums you have, are certified to not exceed that higher pressure around 15,000 psi. The "max 1050 bar" means that particular shell is a long shell that won't exceed a safe pressure that the gun is rated for.

That "max 1050 bar" only means it won't exceed the high safe pressure limit....it doesn't mean it *is* that high safe pressure limit. In reality, a 3 1/2" "magnum" shell *could* quite commonly be only approx 12,000 psi.

thats what i found on a google site

BUT

its not like a hydraulic hose , you are putting these pressures near your head .

safest bet is to pass on those shells.
