Hello Gibby,

I'm down in Plymouth & we have been shooting over rape at the moment but not that sucessfull. There have been a fer birds over winter wheat drillings, maize stubble has gone really. The birds are on the ivy berries now so probably give it a miss until feb roost shooting now.

Sumer time will be laid/wheat barley & stubble, & rape. No peas beans down here i'm afraid.

What you shooting over up there?

Cheers ;)

I shoot mainly over cereals, rape and occasionally peas...not much else is grown in these parts - the odd maize field aside.

Main cereal crops are north of Bristol and East along the M4 to Swindon.

West of Bristol and South are, I believe, too wet as you hit the Somerset levels and Severn Estuary - here you get mostly livestock but good roost shooting.

Hope this helps

J
