eddoakley
Guys, i am looking for a scope to stick on my .308. I would love to spend some decent money and get a s&b or the like, but as i'm so poor that wont be happening for the forseeable future!! I have been looking at the nikko gamekings on optics warehouse and reckon that at £60!! they should do the job. Anyone here tell me any different and/or recommend an alternative on a budget? Dont mind spending a bit more for the right thing but wont be a fortune? Cheers Edd
steve_b_wales
Hi Edd. I've just received a Bushnell Trophy XLT scope for my .308. It's a re-vamped version of the already excellent Trophy models. When I speak to you next, I'll tell you what I paid for it. But I will say that it's excellent value for money. Steve. I got given a gameking with my .308, and I changed it quickly as it was poor in low light conditions. It really depends on what you want to use the rifle for. If it is a stalking rifle then a 3-9 will do. If you can find a second hand Simmons WTC they are far better. I fitted a Simmons Pro Hunter, and it does the job, but you can see the failings when it is almost dark (naked eye visibility down to 200yds), where a more expensive scope is still working.
