Has anyone tried the easy hit shotgun sight are they any good? I lost most of my sight in my right eye a few years back and gave up shooting as i was right handed and right eye dominant, I decided to start again twelve months back shooting from my left shoulder i feel as if i have come a long way in the last twelve months but struggling on some targets mostly anything coming from the right and coming straight toward me. Just wondering if anything like the easy hit would help.

IT might I am RH left eye dominant and tried an easy hit to shoot RH, went and saw a coach/gunsmith who advised me to shoot L/H both eyes open ratehr than R/H one eye closed i am 3-4 months and not enough practice into shooting L/H but I am getting there. Easy hit didnt work for me but it may do for you, are you still right eye dominant? if things like vaseline on your shooting glasses works the so should an easy hit.

Are you shooting a LH gun? or a RH from the left shoulder?

Shooting a LH silver pigeon s and it seems that after loosing most of the sight in the right the left eye has taken over as the dominant eye. Took a while to get used to mounting the gun left handed but hours of dry practice in the back garden and in front of a mirror. I had half a dozen coaching sessions both at N Wales shooting school and Bob vallentines Ive just got to the stage where I'm getting frustrated that i have done well to get so far but got to the stage where i am now not improving if i go on the clays i seem to do no better than 25 out of fifty.

I went through the same started off feeling really funny! but got better and now almost as natural as mounting R/H fortunately i hadn't shot R/H too much. I had a lesson recently with a coach on skeet layout just hitting right to left crossers by the end i could hit 15-20 in a row he explained its just lots of practice on the same bird.

I take it your in North Wales then, KenG on here is up there as well knows a few other places too shoot. I haven't been to N Wales shooting School or Bob Valentines nearly did but long story. I am about the same on clays sometimes a bit better depending I have a L/H 525 which has amid bead which was odd to start with but does seem to help. One thing i was doing wrong was rifling the shot, not taking my eye off the bead and trying to make too sure once i relaxed and concentrated on the clay not the bead i got better. Easy hits can make this worse by drawing your eye off the clay but also help keep the bead in your sight picture I guess try one and see I got one the sportsmans gun centre (have a shop locally) but they are available all over the place.

If you have anyone local who uses Clay-angel its well worth booking a lesson with that in my opinion i saw the results and it helped me understand more of what was happening during a shot. BEfore the eye trouble were you shooting much better scores?

I tried an Easy hit bead at a lesson I had a couple of months ago. I was taking a refresher after not having shot for about 15 months due to the recession.

The coach was diagnosing me as having slight cross dominance issues is certain corners of my vision, and while I'm not sure if i agree with the diagnosis, It certainly helped me check(almost subconsiously, you are looking at the target not the bead after all) that my gun was correctly mounted, and i believe that it will help a lot of people with Cross Dominance issues.

My only gripe was that it only available as a self adhesive system - if it was a proper front bead replacement Then I might consider purchasing one. Perhaps I am being a little snobish but i cant bring myself to start subjecting my gun to novelty gonks stuck on with double sided tape on a semi permanent basis :)

You can fibre optic beads (basically the same thing) for most guns browning have a clip on one and some guns have smaller fibre ones as standard http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http...1t:429,r:22,s:0
