CZ550Kevlar
I bought a box of Banger ropes a few week ago made by black cat, whenever i use them the damn thing blow themselves apart, i get maybe 4 or 5 bangs out of 12. I used to use some ropes made by TanTon in Ashford that always worked, these black cat things are cack, does anyone know of anyway of either making these things usable or another possible make, I live in Dover but anywhere in Kent can be reached. I've used plenty of Black Panther Magnum ropes (by Portek Ltd) is that what you have ? or is Black Cat another make? The ones I've used (last season) worked fine. MC
I have always used the Por tek ones and have never had a problem with them, other than when I cut one in half to give 6 bangs each as I wasn't going to be out for long and I couldn't light the cut half as it had no fuse. humperdingle
I use Tanton banger ropes and they have worked flawlessly so far. I actually bought a turboflame lighter specifically for the task, though, as they can be tricky to light in windy conditions. Maybe your ropes are a little damp? Might be worth hanging them up somewhere with a blow heater and try to dry them? IIRC the Tanton ones have 4 thick strands of rope entwined to make one rope. I tried separating them out and lighting just one... Seems to work, so might be useful for fitting a few spare bangers to.
CZ550Kevlar
They are in an orange box with a black panther face in the middle and made using a length of hemp type rope with the bangers entwined into a strand of the rope, they burn fine and are bone dry but for some reason when a banger goes off it justs seems to blow itself apart scattering bangers around the area of the field i have hung it. Are you hanging them from a fence or similar? Maybe try to loosen the fuse out a bit so the banger drops to the deck once lit?
CZ550Kevlar
I chop a branch off a tree and walk 50 metres or so into the field and place them to make sure the public don`t get injured if they do happen to be walking where they shouldn`t be. They hang freely with the end of the rope a couple of feet from the ground, the fuses have mini white cable ties holding them inplace in the rope twist, can`t understand it and damn annoying as it means i have to stop shooting and fix the damn thing or the pigeons keep going back into the woods. Aah right. I'd lose the cable clips. Once in situ', the bangers shouldn't fall out.
CZ550Kevlar
will give it a try cutting the cable ties off with some wire cutters and leaving them like that, can`t be any worse.
