Highlander

Recommended Posts

I'm seriously thinking of buying a Pinzgauer 716 as a shoot vehicle only apart from a short drive in one years ago (Mark 1 model 710) I've no idea about them. Anyone got some info/advice. Fuel economy, Insurance, RFL, etc etc? :hmm:

Oh and please don't refer me to any sites on the 'net as I've already been there, done it and got the b***** T Shirt! :stupid:

Thanks.

Never owned one but was under the impression they were very high maintenance, more costly on parts than a Mog and no where near as good off road as a Mog. Just the impression I got, speaking to folk in the know, when I used to compete in 4x4s.

Royal marine and Artillery have loads of them used as gun tractors (110mm guns?)and troop transport as well as in utility Role, there are soem civvie variants IIRC, NOt cheap but are early in service life i think at the moment. If you dont want links i wont post any there are dedicated forums and lots of info out there on them.

Tax wise its either a commercial or agri vehicle or a motorhome http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Ownin...*****/DG_069649

  • 2 weeks later...

1976 petrol 6x6 norwiegen army truck complete with all original kit, chains, shovel, tools etc

used it a couple of years back when Askern got flooded, drove rond with water above headlights and no snorkel, exhaust under water and still pulled no problem, off road really good it's a left hooker but still fun to play in,

Went out in a brand new diesel 6x6 a couple of years ago on a demo day, fantastic driving on one wheel went everywhere and anywhere,
