Go Outdoors.

I just got a pair of Meindl Burma Pro, retail at £175:00, Go Outdoors have em' for £157.00 plus if you can find them cheaper anywhere else, they will beat that quote by 10%, I found a place in Newcastle that were selling them for £140:00 so I told Go Outdoors, they checked it out and honoured it knocking 10% off that price. So mine cost me £126:00 :good:

I bought a pair of Meindl Borneo MFS following recommendation.

I cant praise them enough. Bought last winter and worn at every opportunity since, I look for an excuse to put them on, never done that with other boots (Had a few odd looks mind besides the pool with me speedo's on! )

I am sure other boots come with high praise also, but i'm very pleased with my pair and wouldnt hesitate to recommend to others

Foothills (they have a website). Independent boot specialist with a good reputation amongst serious walkers, climbers etc. When I bought mine they didn't stock the Dovre - but they do know about them. They asked me to try on a Burma (I think) which is the closest to the Dovre for fit. They then ordered in the Dovres in the same size and half size bigger for me to try (no obligation). They even price matched a price I got off the web - so couldn't ask for better service.

BTW take the socks you intend to wear- or try on several different ones they stock to tweak the size. They can also show different ways to lace and have various inserts if necessary - although these are a last resort if you have awkward shaped feet.

£200, im fairly pleased with that. To be honest I enquired about the blackislanders too, but at 200 quid, its eether either, theyre both good boots but got free P&P on the meindl's and with mr pips comments seems v.good to deal with.

Just need some decent gaitors now!!!
