Keith RW
The gun in the picture has a SHS not a Roach Belly? Hello JRDS thanks for your post, what is an SHS, i was informed by a chap at Euroguns that it was a roach belly...not even noticed there was a difference between the two No4's that i have until he pointed it out. cheers, Keith
butchdickason
SHS is short for Straight Hand Stock, which the AYA has. Roach Belly is the grain pattern of the stock wood. Butch
boz
Roach Belly describes the shape of the stock from wrist to toe, it has a swell or curve, like a roach's belly. The AyA No.4 has a straight hand stock as already mentioned above. Edited September 20, 2010 by boz
Keith RW
Here are comparative photos of the two aya no4 stocks that i have, side by side and against a straight edge you can see the difference, the one advertised for sale is certainly not straight when compared to the other as can be seen in the photos the other is somewhat straighter which suggests a roach belly on the one for sale does it not ?. The AyA No.4 has a straight hand stock as already mentioned above. Its different but a Roach Belly Stock is usually alot more pronounced than that, they are common on some Browning O/U's. Top one is very nice. http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http...ved=0CD8Q9QEwAg http://www.avalon-guns.com/gundetail.php?STOCKNO=62051 Edited September 20, 2010 by JRDS
Keith RW
Happen this might be or could well be AYA's version of a Roach bellied stock then ... as mentioned by the chap at Euroguns
