the drilling has been going in now for a week on various places;we lost out last week on one field they were on it one day;then it rained the next when we went to have a go;to late after that it germinated.

anyhow another 2 fields were done at the weekend on another place; so had a look monday and hundreds on them; we give them a go but no wind at all to keep em moving and we ended up with 10.

  • but knew with a windy day we would get a few more so today very windy and wet to start but forecast said it would clear up in the afternoon;so got there for 1.30pm still raining but a lot of birds on the drill and a stubble across the road they had built up a lot since monday must have been 500 easy; we waited for the rain to stop and picked our spot; we set up on an old stubble that split the 2 drillings due to birds pulling upwind into a small oak bordering the drilling;it didn;t look good to start only a handfull in first 30 mins and both of us were not shooting very well in the wind missing some easy birds that normally would be on in the bag ;but it suddenly kicked off an birds started to pour in that helped because we both started hitting them now;i had about 15 in a row with 4 right and lefts in the 15.

we picked 49 and lost a few; not bad for 2hrs.
