poontang
Some interesting reading, Not sure supershot is available over here? According to the website it's mainly for reloaders and they have no factory loads in stock. Therefore it's Tungsten Matrix or Hevi-Shot for me
scolopax
I am more than happy with Hevi shot, use it for geese (1's or 3's) and high flighting duck (5's). For decoyed birds, flighting splashes etc I use steel and have no complaints about that either.

My only problem with claims like that is it would probably encourage a lot of shooters to shoot outside of their own capabilities.

Guest cookoff013
true, so very true. but the stuff is way better than anything i`ve seen. but it does bring back the 20gauge for geese (i`ve seen a load for 1,3/8oz in 20gauge) i`ve also seen a 10gauge load of 1,7/8 oz of this stuff to be used on cranes at 100yards. only in america. anser2
Hevi - shot for good range birds , but too tight a pattern for close stuff , or Kent tungsten Impact . Both perform well , but much too pricy. In reality its got to be steel for most of my shooting. 36 gr Gamebore mammoth or Remminton 3s do the job ok. starlight32
Wildfowl shooters; Just wondering, if money was not an issue, what type of non-toxic shot would you prefer to use Hevi shot is all I use now out on the high plains with the exeption of flight ponds where I use steel. I use some factory when I run sort of loose for reloading. I know its expensive but every season I average a 150 quid on loose Hevi which I dont think is that bad. I reload a 32g 5's, 36g and 44g 3. I also run 46g of 2's through a 10g but to be honest it is all overkill. When I first started using Hevi I used loads as big as 2oz through a 10 which was way too excessive once I fully understood its capabilities. There is a guy in my club who due to illness can only shoot a 28g. Without Hevi shot he would have to have given up wildfowling. He reloads Hevi in his 28 and cleans geese outright over decoys. I have to admit I was sceptical about it when I first heard he was doing it and as part of the natural understanding clubs must have over such matters I questioned him about it and voiced my concerns. To his credit we went out and decoyed pinks last season and he killed them sure enough, dead both in the air and over decoys. So with that I was quite impressed, and there was me thinking I was the only true advocator of the stuff after using it solid for three seasons. Sort of blows away your prejudice when you bother to see this sort of thing done 1st hand before you pass final judgement, good on you for keeping an open mind
