Elby
Never seen so many on my shoot. Seen several English partridge with 8-9 young and actually saw a hen partridge today with 19 young. She done well if she got them all off, maybe she's adopted a few. Loads of wild pheasant poults too. Looking good for the season

manxman2
Been years since i saw a partridge over here lads. Used to be big clove-es of them in the fields behind my gaff in the stubbles, shot to oblivion, and the introduction of foxes hasnt helped i suppose. al4x
our English partridges have had a really good year as well Elby and aren't that far from you, I think a combination of weather and predator control has helped ours no end especially the foxes getting a good dealing with this year. Its nice to see hares have also done really well and might even get to shoot some on my main ground shortly where we've never had enough in the past to do so. More gates and ditches and people about has helped so far keep the ****** out
manxman2
I had thoughts that it was the poles and eastern bloc immigrants that would be the most trouble, as they eat anything carp swans etc, they are the Labradors of europe. pete1dart
Saw 6 wild pheasant poults come out of our maize when it was being cut. We normally see a few about as well as partridge but once the season comes they seem to disapeer. The 6 that we did see flew well when the forager got a little bit to close for comfort, straight into the nearest drive. Nice to see
