ditchman
Set up on 40 plus acres of rape yesterday, when we arrived there were 60 or so birds in the middle of the field.......sun behind us so we were in the shadow, 12 deeks out plus the drawstring blacksmith flapper, shot 68 good birds, @ 2,7 : 1....the flapper pulled the birds from 300-400 yds away off their flightline to pass over the deeks.....we had great shooting.... Just plucked the birds out and not one of them has been feeding on rape !!! they were all stuffed with mouldy barley and acorns, mind you around 3 sides of the field are semi mature oack trees, i suppose they wont hit the rape until all the other feeding areas are ploughed in or fed out Any thoughts Ditchman
