Ireland's Finest!
I've got a seroius problem of magpies and crows eating out of the hoppers for the pheasants, is this the same for everyone?(I'm new to rearing pheasants). I have the feeders out in the open I think having them in the hedges brings untold amounts of rats around which is worse in my opinion. Any ideas on what I'm proabably doing wrong? ollie
I have the same problem on our shoot. We took the net off the pen a couple of weeks ago and the crows are starting to hit the feeders. My plan is to shoot a few of them tomorrow morning. manxman2
just shoot a few and hang em by one leg, dangling in the wind, problem sorted. even a few pigeons will do.

southdowns_stalking
If the problem is that serious then things have been slipping on the shoot before you arrived. The only thing to do is take count of the situation and start now and do the best you can to limit the numbers. Carry this on next year and go out to eliminate the problem, it will not be until then you will see a improvement on you shoot.
nipper
Change the feeders ! Spring feeders are cheap enough to make .Try one or two and see
