Hi Guys & Gals,

Now I’m well aware I posted this listing on here a while ago stating that the gun was going to be restored, anyway, long story short the guy who was going to do the work fell ill with some crazy disorder and is no longer to complete it (or even start it for that matter).

So it’s now for sale as it is, as it was when I bought it all those years ago, (with an additional dent in the stock which is pictured).

As mentioned in the last post selling it, I’ve no idea what it’s worth, so to stay in line with the forum rules stipulating a price, I’m going to say £1600, I am however open to offers, so please if you’re interested, send me a PM with your offer as it will help me gauge its true value based on what people are willing to pay.

Spec is as follows,

12 bore shotgun, barrels are fixed choke, 1/4 and 1/2, 2" 3/4 chambers, 28" barrels. Rib width is approximately 10mm wide and is elevated about 4mm from the top of the barrel (that’s assuming the rib is the flat piece running the length of the barrels).

Also included are approximately 500 cartridges, assorted but mainly 7’s & 9.5 and a few 3’s & 4’s.

Another also included is 12 shell pigeon decoys; I’m not sure if all the sticks are with them but most are.

It’s probably better if you email me direct (if that’s allowed) as I don’t really come on here all that often, email address is #################, I’m based in Anglesey, North Wales, and am willing to post to anyone’s local RFD at buyers expense.

Thanks

(Pictures, nowww...... Im guessing there is some url link thing somewhere that I could just pop into here, but figured it was easier just to stick link to Flickr, you can also see my other 2 rifles there, which are also for sale on this site...)

Hey guys,

I’ve been given some interesting information on the gun from a member on this site, with some details of a person who could point me in the right direction with regards to what model the gun is for sure, and hopefully some indication as to what it’s worth, as at the end of the day, im not wishing to rip anyone off…

Unfortunately, I don’t have a picture of the serial number with me in work, so ill have to go home to get that off my laptop this evening, meaning ill be un-able to call the said person until tomorrow, therefore, to all who have made offers through PM and e-mail, I wont be accepting any until I’ve found out a little more about the gun, this is of course to protect both you and me..

Thank you.

Serial number is on pics - 3380137. No date code in them so I think Hardwoods Green is probably about righ with his dating

Regards

Graham

Just found out that due to the serial number the gun definitely pre-dates 1975. I have a very helpful chap on the case trying to identify the exact age and model of the gun, so ill keep you all posted…

On a separate note, to all that have sent pm’s with offers, some offers have been what I would have been willing to accept, although as I mentioned in an earlier post, ill not be accepting or declining any offers until I know exactly what the gun is, this is for the potential buyers protection as well as my own.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just found out from a very helpful chap at the Cheshire Gun room, that the shotgun is a Miroku 3800 Grade 5, not an SW as correctly noted by Hardwoods Green.

The gun was imported by Parker Hale and pre dates 1975..

Next question, does anyone know how I can get hold of Parker Hale? as so far my quest has stopped there.

Thanks

Parker Hale were a Birmingham based gun makers sold off in the late 80's early 90's i think there name still appears on gun oil and accessories Like most Birmingham makers records have not survived the many takeovers and sales very well. If you want to properly research the gun you may be better taking it off sale and doping the research or now you know its a 3800 grade 5 proof mark will give a date set a price and sell it.

At 31 March 2010 Parker Hale is owned by Parker Hale Limited (care of John Rothery Wholesale) Bedford Road, Petersfield, Hampshire. GU32 3XA. England. Tel: +44 (0) 1730 268011 - Fax: +44 (0) 1730 260074

Your best bet...
