  1. 12 bore shotgun, barrels are fixed choke, 1/4 and 1/2, 2" 3/4 chambers, 28" barrels. Rib width is approximately 10mm wide and is elevated about 4mm from the top of the barrel (that’s assuming the rib is the flat piece running the length of the barrels). Also included are approximately 500 cartridges, assorted but mainly 7’s & 9.5 and a few 3’s & 4’s. Another also included is 12 shell pigeon decoys; I’m not sure if all the sticks are with them but most are. I will be a little slow checking PM's as im not able to check on here every 5 min and for some unforseen reason im not able to post my e-mail address, so bear with me because I will get back to you. Offers around £1600 Images... http://www.flickr.com/photos/54515587@N04/with/5088855485/
  2. Just found out from a very helpful chap at the Cheshire Gun room, that the shotgun is a Miroku 3800 Grade 5, not an SW as correctly noted by Hardwoods Green. The gun was imported by Parker Hale and pre dates 1975.. Next question, does anyone know how I can get hold of Parker Hale? as so far my quest has stopped there. Thanks
  3. Just found out that due to the serial number the gun definitely pre-dates 1975. I have a very helpful chap on the case trying to identify the exact age and model of the gun, so ill keep you all posted… On a separate note, to all that have sent pm’s with offers, some offers have been what I would have been willing to accept, although as I mentioned in an earlier post, ill not be accepting or declining any offers until I know exactly what the gun is, this is for the potential buyers protection as well as my own.
  4. Hey guys, I’ve been given some interesting information on the gun from a member on this site, with some details of a person who could point me in the right direction with regards to what model the gun is for sure, and hopefully some indication as to what it’s worth, as at the end of the day, im not wishing to rip anyone off… Unfortunately, I don’t have a picture of the serial number with me in work, so ill have to go home to get that off my laptop this evening, meaning ill be un-able to call the said person until tomorrow, therefore, to all who have made offers through PM and e-mail, I wont be accepting any until I’ve found out a little more about the gun, this is of course to protect both you and me.. Thank you.
  5. Two rifles for sale, first is my Savage 93R17 .17HMR Rim-fire rifle with a Bushnell Banner 6 x 24 x 50mm scope with mil-dots. Comes complete with 210 17grn bullets as pictured.... Great rifle, I don’t really know what to say about it really, it has the accu-trigger and a screw cut barrel, there are loads of reviews online if you just Google it, also a fair few video’s on YouTube. I’d also recommend the SAK moderator with this rifle as opposed to the .22LR... £490.00 ono... Second in my Marlin 795 .22 LR Rim-fire rifle with a Edgar Brothers 3 x 9 40mm scope, this is a semi-automatic rim-fire rifle, 10 shot magazine, groups sub 1” at 100 yards effortlessly, whisper quiet with the SAK moderator and sub-sonic bullets, unfortunately I don’t currently have any sub-sonic rounds but included is approximately 670 supersonic bullets.. This rifle had serious problems with jamming when I bought it, this was due to a miss-aligned feeder which was sorted by my RFD, since sorting, it will fire absolutely anything (.22LR of course) without jamming, it’s one of the only semi-automatic .22LR’s which I’ve never had any doubt, will cycle the next round without fail... £320.00 ono... Now you may have noticed that both rifles have a bipod and SAK moderator, fitted. These are the same ones; I have 1 SAK moderator & 1 Bipod. So the prices stated on the rifles are for the rifles, scope and magazines only, and does not include the bipod or the moderator on either... Selling separately and will fit to both rifles, are 1 Edgar Brothers bipod (£50) & 1 SAK moderator (£20), I also have another bi-pod which doesn’t fit to either of these rifles as it is weaver mounting (£20). SAK moderator will require a slot on the buyers FAC cert... Apart from the weaver mounting bi-pod, I will not sell either of the others on their own until both rifles are sold... Serious offers considered... Will post to any RFD at buyers expense.. Cheers... Piccies..... http://www.flickr.com/photos/54515587@N04/with/5088855485/
  6. Hi Guys & Gals, Now I’m well aware I posted this listing on here a while ago stating that the gun was going to be restored, anyway, long story short the guy who was going to do the work fell ill with some crazy disorder and is no longer to complete it (or even start it for that matter). So it’s now for sale as it is, as it was when I bought it all those years ago, (with an additional dent in the stock which is pictured). As mentioned in the last post selling it, I’ve no idea what it’s worth, so to stay in line with the forum rules stipulating a price, I’m going to say £1600, I am however open to offers, so please if you’re interested, send me a PM with your offer as it will help me gauge its true value based on what people are willing to pay. Spec is as follows, 12 bore shotgun, barrels are fixed choke, 1/4 and 1/2, 2" 3/4 chambers, 28" barrels. It’s probably better if you email me direct (if that’s allowed) as I don’t really come on here all that often, email address is #################, I’m based in Anglesey, North Wales, and am willing to post to anyone’s local RFD at buyers expense. Thanks (Pictures, nowww...... Im guessing there is some url link thing somewhere that I could just pop into here, but figured it was easier just to stick link to Flickr, you can also see my other 2 rifles there, which are also for sale on this site...) 7. Listen!!!! Im sorry for doing something which I took to be harmless extremely amateur photography, I understand the dont point at anything rule just as much as anyone else does, and I understand the reason behind it being purely safety orientated, i wont be doing it again.... Also MC, im sorry you took my post to be threatening, it honestly wasn’t my intension. It gets a bit patronising, when all it seems people want to do it criticise for one reason or another...
  8. A. I didnt threaten you once, you have only gone to prove your childhood of the child that goes running to the teacher everytime there is a disagreement.... B. You are not permitted to shoot other than, at quary or zeroing, so avoid pointing your rifle, at tree's stone walls or anything else for that matter.... you're pathetic.... grow up man...
  9. Its fine being a tough guy behind your monitor, it really is, and if you get a kick out of it, then good for you.... Just make sure it stays behind your monitor!!! Where does it say in my text that the dog, was the Potential target.....? smart ****, where does it say the rifle was loaded, and not being used to capture an image??? jack ****
  10. Okay.... So when you go to the gun shop, and mount a gun, does that mean the wall is a "Potential Target" and your going to blow a great big hole in it.... Grow Up!!!
  11. Tally Ho!!! Honestly from the bottom of my heart.... "IM SORRY!!!" I hereby promiss never to observe a potencial target through my rifle. I hereby promiss never to take a picture throught the sight of my "safe" rifle. I hereby promiss never to post pictures or write-up's which are likely to antagonise the geek's who prowel to incriminate without knowing the details behind there comments.... AMEN!!!
  12. I have a 3-9 X 40 on my 17 HMR and in fairness to him mine is massivly inadequate, im looking for something with more mag now... A 4-12 X 40 would be better obviously but im looking at something more hopefully which can be placed on a larger calibre in time, look at it like a long term investment...
  13. You bunch really need to get off your horse's, your like a bunch of sheep for crying out loud.... One says jump and the other dope's question how high... Have you never looked through the sight at a potential target to identify it? Ive raised the rifle and looked through at rabbits before now to only see their actually hare's, now I would have had every intension of firing and killing a rabbit, but no intension of firing at and killing a hare??? or is that wrong too??? You really think id point a live rifle at a target, without the intension of firing? you bunch of jacked up fool's...... If you can compile some sort of proof, that a rifle with the safety catch on, aswell as the bolt drawn back (which generally means, there is no round in the chamber) can fire, im all ears, really... Unless the round spontaneously combusts, there is not much chance of the target getting accidentally "slotted" is there??? If I wanted to photograph the farmers dog with just my camera then I would have done so, but that doesn’t get the same feeling across without the cross hairs does it? In response to harfordwmj.... Now were on the subject, If you recall, Ive mentioned in an older post that Ive spent some time looking and photographing Geese through the telescopic, but due to the fact that nobody else pointed it out in the context, im guessing you weren’t smart enough to put the 2 + 2 together??? Just a hunch!!! I enjoy shooting, and I enjoy photographing things, if I can mix the two I will, but im not daft enough to do it dangerously...
  14. Great write up, how old is your lad??
  15. I had "Lob Scouse" Now who knows that little Welsh winter warmer???
  16. So this wouldnt necessarily be a bad buy then??
  17. Taxi....... School boy error!!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BUSHNELL-YARDAGE-PRO...id=p3286.c0.m14
  18. Any idea what this one will be like? and the rough value? Im off to florida in November so will get something better there for cheaper, so for the time being will this do the job or not? Thanks
  19. Pass on range, like stated, guestimated, 286 paces with slight detour around through gate 150yards??? possibily??? further than any shot ive ever made for sure...
  20. Afternoon people…. Just thought id tell all about a shot I placed the other night with the 17 HMR, probably nothing special to the veterans, but Christ did it make me feel good. I went to a permission which is a local go cart circuit, now I’ve been told that I can shoot any time there day or night, even during opening ours, and have done for around 2 years now. Out of consideration for the owner and abuse from anti’s, ive never shot there during their opening hours, which limits the shooting to after 8.00pm, apart from Monday’s when the place is closed all day. After a lengthily chat with the owner, I set off to find fields full of tall grass, although full of sheep, so next week should be better. After wondering about quietly and slowly for around 30min without seeing a thing, I decided to just test the zero hadn’t changed since shooting on the Sunday, so I let on rip across the dip in the land at a small mole hill around 100 yards away, with a puff of soil, I was satisfied with the result. Bullets were Hornday 17grn blue tips, and the rifle is a Savage 93R17GVTB, with Edgar Brothers 3x9 x 40mm. (Not really a good enough scope for the gun, but a trip to Florida in November will sort that out). I have the rifle zeroed at around 120 paces (which im guessing is around a bout 100yrds). After just over an hour of wandering around like a possessed ninja, a target in the form of a large rabbit presented itself roughly 270 yards away, now the furthest live target ive shot in my short time with the HMR has only been around the 80 yard mark so nothing to write home about. Ive been shooting at static targets out to around 150 yards comfortably, limited by the magnification of the scope and actually being able to see the targets, my favourite being plastic bottle caps. This little vegetarian, was much further than anything id ever tempted, I aligned the rifle with the rabbit to observe it for a minute, after all, this is supposed to be the art of “One shot, One kill”…So I needed to get things straight, first was determining the state of awareness of the target. I closed the distance a little, in search of a suitable resting point. I had closed the gap by approximately 50 yards when I came across a slight incline in the terrain perfect to rest the fore end of the rifle on. Once again, patiently I aligned the rifle with its target, and peered through the telescopic at the unsuspecting, oblivious rabbit, that was so close to possibly, the end of its days… Perfect weather conditions, zero wind, guestimated around 220 yards, took out my ballistics sheet to calculate elevation, 220 yards, fall from 100yrd zero, elevation 1.75 inches. Great so the shot is a go, I took aim, but a powerful heart beat from the excitement, was throwing me off too much to take the shot, safety back on, ill wait a few minutes, see if things calm down. 5 short minutes later, with the steady hold over, and the pause in steady breathing, a 17-grain, ballistic tip bullet was sonic booming across the Welsh landscape to find its target just to the back of the eye socket, which naturally ended play time. I observed for any further movement, before collecting my gear and setting off in the general direction, unfortunately I was unable to walk directly to the target, because of a tree line, and had to wander off 50 yards to the left through a gateway. Paced total was 286 paces, guestimated line of sight from shooting position to target, 220ish yards. The rest of the evening due to lack of interest from the rabbits was spent watching the farmers Jack Russell through the telescopic. Called it a day 30min later, Total shots fired – 2 Total kills confirmed – 1 Enjoyment scale from 1/5 - 100 I did take pictures, but they’re still on my camera at home, ill post this evening if I remember how to do it… Happy Shooting!!! KJ
