sitsinhedges
Looking for some recommendations for 20 gauge cartridges for - Clays Game Pigeons Must be fibre wad. Thanks! I would buy 28gram Gamebore Traditional Game for live stuff, relatively mild recoil but seems to knock stuff down well. I would buy whatever is cheapest for clays
angrymallard
Looking for some recommendations for 20 gauge cartridges for - Clays Game Pigeons Must be fibre wad. Thanks! Hmmm i like RC20's which are 32g loads in which i have shot sizes 6,5 and used to use 3 for duck but the 6/5's are excellent for pheasant and pigeon . They are probably my favourite cartridge for the 20g even though it is rarely used nowdays.
paul99
RC Sipe in 28g No.6 are, I think, the best of the 20b cartridges I've used so far for game but their not cheap Gamebore Pure Gold used to be pretty good too (10 years or so ago) - I would have thought that they would only have improved since then too. One guy I shoot with swears by Rottweil Tigers in his 20b for game but I've not tried them. For pigeons or clays slightly cheaper express super or winchester rangers again in 6 shot for pigeons or 7.5 if you plan on shooting alot of clays would be fine and is what I used when I used the 20b exclusively. Now though, I tend to use the 12b for this type of shooting as the cartridges at the budget end of the scale tend to be much cheaper and there's a hell of alot more choice. lasbrisas
My son uses Hull Pro Twenty in 24g no 8 for clays, he's 12 but quite small for his age
Cranfield
Another vote for Gamebore Traditional Game 28gms, fibre wad, for game and pigeons. A very consistent, clean cartridge. For clays I am currently using Eley CT and they seem to be OK.
