pegleg31
anyone shot quail? how do they fly/hold cover? looking to use them for dog training so any info would be greatly appreciated
scolopax
the handful of wild quail I have seen have flown fast and low but unlike most gamebirds which drop after a field or two quail just keep going. I would think the release of any of the varieties of quail commonly kept in captivity would be illegal though.
anser2
Native species of quail are protected and anyway most have migrated south before the start of the shooting season.
pegleg31
i would'nt be releasing them as such.i'd be setting them up to flush.only using a handful of birds at any one time just looking into a cheaper alternative o partridge
