Ireland's Finest!
Does anybody have any products from Rivers West? If so how do you dry them after a days use? It says your allowed tumble dry them but I wouldnt imagine they'd last too long if you done that every time you used them.

harpoonlouis
tumble dry on a 40 degree heat, do this with mine and it re-energises the waterproof fabric. This was recommened by Rivers West in the UK I have a pair and they are brilliant in very cold weather and the wind and rain. Tumbling on a low heat is recommended on the website to keep the membrane working effectively. They are so waterproof i tumple mine about 15 mins on low then turn them inside out for a few more minutes to make sure both sides are dry. The thorn proofing isn't shouted about very much but they guy who sold me mine pulled out a sharpened nail and suggested I stabbed a pair! Couldn't put a hole in them no matter how I tried. I wear waxed legging over mine in heavy brambles just so I don't come out covered in **** in the soft fleece but that is essential. Highly recommended. I bought a set at the cla game fair back in the summer, the guy showed us the nail and material thing he diddnt look so confident when my auld boy put the nail through the fabric! We still bought a set each anyway, good clothing but there not exactly the warmest I just wear mine when its ******* raining

We still bought a set each anyway, good clothing but there not exactly the warmest I just wear mine when its ******* raining My bib and braces already have two holes in them after catching on very blunt bits of barbwire, stitching coming undone on the braces around the rubber/neoprene grip pads that are to stop them slipping, fabric wearing thin around the back and I use them once a week if that. Really not pleased they are definately going back. They are no better in quality in terms of fabric than any of the mid-priced stuff. Was going to buy a jacket aswell, but if this is anything to go by, not a chance. RUBBISH Edited December 6, 2010 by B525 Sporter
silver pigeon 3
I bought an eider jacket and i am very impressed. Like other people have said probaly not the warmest on the market so buy big and wear a fleece underneath, only criticism is that the zip could be more heavy duty. kent
Been using the Eieder recently, Waterproofing looses it when muddy ( i use it on foreshore) washing and tumble drying revitalises it. The cuffs are great you dont get water up your sleeves retrieving your deeks and it dont run down them when your holding your barrels aloft. Tail is too long for Chesties IMO and too short for pants ( i would preffer i drawcord type waist personally. As for toughness i suspect the fabric will outlast the zip, which seems to hate mud ( strange for a coat said to be made for fowling) In fairness it aint in the mega bucks catogory and it aint cheap so i guess it is about its value. That silly empty shell handbag type attachment sounds good but just gets in the way on the marsh and the shell holders on the arms never see use either as your spares just get muddy and rust there
