steve_b_wales
Well, my flapper from the above company has finally given up the ghost. I tried to use yesterday, it started okay, I switched it off to alter the wings, switched it back on again, and nothing! I've tried everything, including stripping the machine down. The annoying part is that I cannot get into the motor, as it's sealed by welding to the case. But, as I've had this great bit of kit for almost seven years, and have used and abused it many times, I think I've had my monies worth. Time to contact our sponsor now and buy a new one.I hope I get as many years service out of that one.
wymberley
Steve, was your now defunct one one of the earlier more "rounded body" shapes or the current "square" version? Cheers

wymberley
The square version. Thanks, Steve. Reason for asking was that I have the other which just HAS to wear out soon. This gives a more sedate controlled glide path approach sort of flap which sort of resembles a carefree stroll to the local bistro if you see what I mean. The faster flapping square ones seem more like "don't fancy this I'm getting the hell out of here". Now, obviously, as you've used one and are going to replace it with the same model, my impression must be wrong and they're fine. Cheers, Phil

I used it with an intermittent timer, which flapped the wings 21 times, with a 5 second break. It always proved to be a good draw for the birds, when in use. Steve. If that was intentional, nice one!
steve_b_wales
If that was intentional, nice one! The intermittent timer I used, could be set (internally) to whatever on-off time you wanted. My setting was intentional and proved successful many times.

caeser
I've had one of the same for a few years now and its never let me down. But if it does , I will strip it down, even if I have to grind the weld off. I take it you haven't got access to the right equipment. I'll bet it can repaired some way.
