beatingisbest
I am below 18 but does this effect the chance of getting a shotgun certificate? Is it hard to get one? Has anyone ever been refused? I have beat for around 5 years and have plenty of good references with shotguns and FAC's. Thank-you if you post

paulos
you shouldnt have any problems, there is no minimum age for getting a SGC, so long as you dont have a wallet full of ASBOs then theres no real reason why not. as you are 15, you can be given a gun and cartridges by someone else, but you cannot buy them on your own. this is fine if your parents have a certificate or if you have friends who could buy a gun and ammunition on your behalf. if not it would get tricky. hope it helps paul

dunganick
if your over 17 you can if your 16 you cannot although you can use a shotgun unsupervised, but all of your equipment must be 'given' to you (given must be stated on the certificate)
