number 1
went out on sat on to a drilling field(corn) got there and noticed around 100 on the field. i watched the field for a bit and noticed they where coming over the wood and droping out there so i set up where they were coming over(high ground) but then in the distance 1/2mile away on other land there was a drilled field and there was at least 2000 birds on there (i though it was gonna to rain but as i looked closer the sky was blackish with pigeons. anyway the pigeons just ignored my deeks and just flew over them and past them to this other field. was there something wrong with my pattern?? i had 2 floaters 6dead birds and 3 deeks what went wrong
Cranfield
A field holding that many undisturbed pigeons, is going to act like a magnet for every pigeon in the area. The one consolation is that when they have finished with that field, they will pay more attention to yours. I don,t know what pattern you had out, but I would have used a lot more decoys, probably as many as I could carry. It might have made no difference, you never know. Catamong
There was probably more food available on the other field - and as Cranners said, you should have had more deeks out, or another gun covering the other field. You must be prepared to move quickly if it is obvious that they are favouring a different spot - still, put it down to experience and regard it as a lesson learned.....
