roughshooter
Hi - I am after some 12g Black powder shells. None of my local shops seem to stock them any more! Any one got anu lurking around? Regards Graham
Guest cookoff013
they are expensive. be aware. last ones i saw they were £25 a box. reload some for cheaper. 3 drams black powder (82-83 grains) compress with a fibre / cork wad (plus over powder card) 1,1/8 oz shot. should be 1100fps, 1200fps is expected, but shot size selection ie 4s for pheasant, etc. paper cases too. Vince Green
Can these loaded with Pyrodex?Just carts are £17 a box of 25!!!!! Yes they can but Pyro is about three times the price of BP. Still a good option. Using pyro works out about 40p per cartridge for powder. You get just under 100 out of a drum for £36 depending on the load. Edited November 8, 2010 by Vince Green

Do BP (or pyro) carts need to be done with an overshot wad and a rolled turnover rather than a crimp? Regards Graham
Vince Green
Yes because the powder takes up a lot more space in the cartridge leaving no room for a star crimp. You really need new cartridges for the same reason. Paper idealy. Edited November 9, 2010 by Vince Green
