Hodmedod.one
Drove through Wimblington in Cambs yesterday. On a peat field there was a large block of game cover maize that had been flattened. Honestly, the ground was absolutely blue with woodies and they were flying around like flocks of starlings above it. I have never seen so many in my life. Stopped the car to have a closer look and they paid no attention. Honked the horn and they lifted for a few seconds and went back down again. There must have been over 5000. Amazing! remytherussell
It,s probable that the maize was game-crop and had been flattened for ploughing and this had knocked the grain off. always a good source of pigoens. Keep an eye open for any not flattened and try to find out when its due and you will have a biig day. RTR
Highlander
Yeh saw one of the biggest flocks I've ever seen just last week only on a harvested beet field. Swathed maize is a wonderful pull for woody, almost a drug. Get out there and shoot some, you don't even need to go too mad with the decoys. If they're comin' in just hide and see what develops. Good time of year for a sportsman to get good bags (no young around) and if you do it right you'll be able to go back a second and even a third time...you lucky b******
