Paddy Galore!
Hello chaps, firstly let me thank silpig5 for taking me out on one of the guest days at his shoot, you're a top geezer Any how, after a huge fry up at 7.30 at a local pub, we headed off up the road to meet up. This was my first time on an organised shoot and i was a tad nervous, shouldn't have worried tho as they made me feel more than welcome, a genuine bunch of blokes. I cant remember how many drives we had, i think about 5 in the morning and three in the afternoon but we walked a good few miles under clear blue skies, plenty of birds too, i think we probably had the best of the stands in the morning, i missed plenty but on the last stand before lunch i got a beautiful overhead driven bird while waiting behind the tree line, unfortunately i forgot the safety and left it for adi to pick up, the second was almost identical and i didn't make the same mistake twice, quickly followed by a longer bird who caught sight of me at the last minute and started to turn and cross, not quickly enough tho and i bagged my 2nd and last bird of the day. The final tally was around 65, a mixture of phezzys, partridge, and pigeon from the afternoon woodland shoot topped off a very enjoyable day.
