killer_pigeon
Hi all My shooting buddy whos a plumber has just been paid with a shotgun rather then cash as the customer is totally broke, he wants to sell as he only ever shoots a Beretta semi auto. Gun is :- 12G O/U Beretta Silver Pigeon - Sporting (it has this written on barrel so i assume its a sporter) Grade 1 wood 28" barrels 5 chokes 2 Victory extended chokes Choke Key plastic case with warranty card etc 2 rubber butt pads the date stamp on barrel is BN which i found out on internet is year 2000 The barrels and action look ok and in good clean condition but the woodwork is a different story there are loads of varnish scratches all over butt and forend and a good few dings here and there. It wouldnt bother me personally but i suspect whoever buys it may need to refinish the wood to get it back to former glory. the guy that had it before only ever did duck and goose hunting so its had minimal use and the action is good and tight to prove it I will take it out tomorrow and give it a good test at clay ground and make sure it works Any ideas of a general ball park figure on valuation. His licence is up for renewal in a week time so once he gets another one sorted he will definitely sell it. HDAV
check guntrader and knock £100-£200 off the cheapest one, as long as it doesn't owe him too much he should be fine, getting paid with a shotgun sounds more glamorous than it really is. I would say £6-800 if its in decent nick, if it oiled stock or varnished? Edited November 15, 2010 by HDAV
