wanted to try making a rifle rest for when lamping in the vitara, so with a floor lifter, scrap of ply, and an old house roof ariel and bit of foam, came up with this, it can be adjusted it height, but only by around 30mm, but costing me ziltch, I reckon it'll do the job

Very similar to one I made - demonstrated here by my shooting buddy- I made it from a Glass lifter some timber 3" plumbing pipe and foam isnsulation- coverd with no mark cammo tape

 

works very well indeed

have done that on many occassions, just sometimes the rest could do with being further away, have taken my mk1 version apart and started work on a better mk2 version, will post pics when its done, just too cold in shed right now

finished the mk2 version, this one is alot more stable and is around 4" away from the window, which gives you a bit more room for movement,

 

as it gives me one "sucker" spare, Im going to have a go at a roof mount light
