Dr D
49 pigeons today. Good fun, bit slow at times. But nothing like the sight of couple of hundred birds closing their wings and dropping in. amazing to watch never mind shoot.

Dr D
29 this afternoon and 2 crows. they were really difficult to decoy. I also noticed a few thin birds. My guess is that these are scottish pigeons that have crossed over the Irish sea ahead of the snow. Edited November 27, 2010 by Dr D

Dr D
tough time today. Had a few hours so went to a Brussel sprout field that was teeming with birds. But they were having none of it. birds kept passing overhead either out of range or skirting the pattern. I tried everything and they just would not come in. I thought with the snow they would be practically suicidal. But not these birds. I ended up with a dozen. Anyone else ever come across this sort of behaviour? The only thing I can think of is that they had already been shot at. but I dont think this is the case. Strange things pigeons. I will try again. I thought I would have taken over ton of this field for sure. Edited December 7, 2010 by Dr D

I have found when there is snow on the ground its best to have plenty of decoys out the more the better with a few proped up in the hedge or trees
Dr D
Like you say they could of been shot at or they could of been snow blind which has messed me up a few times . I have found when there is snow on the ground its best to have plenty of decoys out the more the better with a few proped up in the hedge or trees Thanks for that Pro Tom. I am pretty sure the wern't shot at. I have a load of decoys out. And at one stage 5 bouncers and couple of whirlies, nothing worked. So that leave the snow blindness theory. Thing I can't understand is why my birds won't decoy and yet the guys in Scotland appear to hammering them.
